Development Directions LLC was formed in 2019 by Jim O'Gara to carry on his career-long work on facilitating private investment for productive uses in Emerging Markets. 

The principles that have driven Jim's work over decades have increased in importance in recent years - environmental and economic sustainability, practical and appropriate plans and proposals, and the creation of a culture of integrity that will attract the best partners and investors.

Development Directions President, Jim O'Gara is a senior economic development executive and former Deloitte Managing Director. He has more than 30 years of  experience in leading and implementing industrial, enterprise and technology zones in a sustainable urban planning context. His proven track record of leading multidisciplinary and multinational teams in both the public and private sectors spans 50 countries. Mr. O'Gara has strong communication/ cultural awareness skills that are applied to senior counterparts and team members alike, in development policy, financial structures and sustainable urban planning. He has demonstrated the ability to identify development opportunities, and to manage difficult situations and solve complex development issues.
